We do not use acetates.

Have questions about our custom vinyl cutting services? Here are some common inquiries from our customers to help you understand our process better.
Custom vinyl cutting is the process of creating personalized lathe cut vinyl records from your audio files. We have the advantage of being able to cut you one single vinyl record.
What most people are not aware of in vinyl production is that all pressed vinyl records (commercial discs) start their life as a lathe-cut stamper disc. If you wish to study more about this, please do some research, lathe cuts are just as good, if not better than pressed vinyl records. We have thousands of happy customers.
Absolutely! You can provide your own audio files, and we will cut them to create your unique vinyl record.
Typically, our custom vinyl records are ready within 2-3 weeks, depending on the complexity of the order. We cannot guarantee shipping times internationally. Use the chat box below if you have questions regarding time frames or are in a rush for your next project.
We accept most audio formats including and not limited to WAV, MP3, AIFF and FLAC. Please ensure your files are high quality for the best results before uploading to our shop section. Please trim off any silence at the end of the audio.
Please upload your audio files through our shop section, please label your tracks, if possible, as below.
Name each individual audio track clearly labelled as followed (example):
Disc 1 Side A Track 1,
Disc 1 Side A Track 2….. (and so forth)
Disc 2 Side B Track 1,
Disc 1 Side B Track 2….. (and so forth)
We do not require track names, in fact this confuses the whole operation!
It is not a problem if the files are not renamed, but this helps us get your order completed faster.
Our vinyl is made of the finest Belgian PETG. This is a far more durable and superior product to PVC, but closely related.
We do not use acetates!
Our lathe cut vinyl will last for up to 10,000 plays and more, if looked after correctly. Changing pickup stylus and cleaning will extend the life of your vinyl. Always keep out of direct sun light as this may warp them.
We are also DJs who actively use our own products, including vinyl lathe cuts that have maintained high-end sound quality for over 10 years.
Centre Labels: Yes, we offer printed centre labels, attached to the vinyl by us. Please upload your images to the shop section (labels) There is an extra small fee for this service which is automatically added when you upload images to side A and B. You will be able to crop your own images through the label upload area. We do not add text to images, if this is what you want, please add your text prior to uploading your centre label images.
Don’t want printed centre labels? No problem, just do not upload images in the label section and you will be sent free white centre labels.
Outer Jackets: we do not currently print outer jackets. However, for professional printing services, we recommend contacting quotes@smadadesign.com.au. They specialize in this field, while we focus on expertly crafting lathe-cut vinyl records!
Every order includes a PVC inner bag and a white card outer sleeve at no additional cost.
As we are a lathe cutting vinyl company, we can cut a single vinyl or up to 100 copies. If larger amounts are required, please email us info@vinylgroove.com.au or use the chat box in the bottom right of screen. We will get back to you!
Yes! If all vinyl copies contain the same audio, we can offer discounts, as this slightly reduces our labor. Bulk pricing applies to orders of 10 or more identical copies. Please contact us to request a coupon code, via email info@vinylgroove.com.au
Please note that vinyl lathe cutting is a highly labor-intensive process, with each record being cut in real-time. There is no expedited method for production. If you require 100 or more copies, we recommend reaching out to a vinyl pressing plant for a more suitable solution.
